NUTRITION COACHING
Build nutrition skills that fit how you live
Most people already know the basics of eating well. RTS Nutrition Coaching helps you turn that knowledge into repeatable skills, structure, and habits you can use at home, while traveling, eating out, and through the busiest parts of life.
RTS' Nutrition Approach
Make good decisions repeatable
At RTS, we take nutrition in small steps. We help clients build the tools to be consistent and remove unnecessary variables first, so we can clearly see what’s actually happening. Once the foundation is solid, we make appropriate adjustments and customize from there.
NUTRITION THAT STARTS WHERE YOU ARE
BUILD CONSISTENCY BEFORE CHASING PERFECTION
Nutrition does not need to start with strict rules, complicated meal plans, or trying to hit perfect numbers every day.
At RTS, early phases focus on simple, low-pressure tools that improve awareness and accuracy. As your skills and confidence improve, nutrition progresses from structure to accuracy, planning, and customization.
The goal is to develop the skills to make nutrition work in real life, including at home, while traveling, eating out, and during busy periods.
NUTRITION PILLARS
CREATE STRUCTURE YOU CAN EXECUTE
Start by simplifying food choices, improving meal structure, and building consistency. This gives your coach a clearer picture of your current habits before more precise nutrition strategies are introduced.
BUILD ACCURACY. LEARN TO PLAN.
Develop portion-estimation and tracking skills, then learn to plan protein and eventually full nutrition targets in advance. The goal is to understand your intake well enough to make informed adjustments, not just react to numbers.
APPLY INFORMED ADJUSTMENTS
Once the foundation and skills are established, nutrition becomes more individualized. Your coach can adjust variables such as macros, meal timing, carbohydrate timing, fiber, eating out, travel, weekends, and fueling around training based on your goals and real behavior.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF RTS NUTRITION IS RIGHT FOR YOU
You may not need another diet. You may need a better system.
If you understand what you “should” be doing but struggle to execute it consistently, have found yourself repeatedly starting over, or feel like your nutrition falls apart as soon as your schedule changes, RTS Nutrition Coaching is designed to close that gap.
It can also provide a more structured path for people who want to improve body composition, support their training, develop better portion and meal-planning skills, or simply feel more confident making food decisions without relying on a rigid meal plan.
For individuals who need greater nutritional analysis or customization, Registered Dietitian support provides an additional level of precision for areas such as dietary restrictions, meal timing, macro distribution, nutrient balance, and more complex nutrition goals.
SUCCESS STORIES
Nutrition success is more than following a plan for a few weeks. Hear from RTS clients who have built stronger habits, improved their performance, changed their body composition, and learned how to make nutrition work within their lives.

ELIZA WENDEL
Nutrition at RTS is led by Registered Dietitian and Training Coach Eliza Wendel.
Eliza brings nutrition and training together to help clients build an approach that works beyond a perfectly controlled environment. Her role allows RTS to provide a deeper level of analysis and customization when a client’s needs extend beyond foundational nutrition coaching.
Registered Dietitian support can include more detailed evaluation of food quality, meal structure, macro distribution, meal timing, dietary restrictions, fiber and nutrient balance, and other variables as appropriate to the individual.
FAQS
Do I have to follow a strict meal plan?
No. RTS’s goal is not to make you dependent on a rigid meal plan. Your coach provides structure and guardrails while helping you develop the skills to build meals and make decisions independently.
Do I have to count calories or track macros?
Not necessarily, and not necessarily right away. RTS generally establishes structure and awareness before introducing more precise tracking. Tracking can become a useful tool as you progress, but the process is built around your readiness and needs.
Is nutrition coaching only for weight loss?
No. Nutrition can support a range of goals, including body composition, performance, energy, better eating habits, increased consistency, and greater confidence around food.
Why does nutrition matter if I’m already training?
Training is only one part of the picture. How you eat can influence how well you support your training, recover from it, manage hunger and energy, and work toward body-composition or performance goals. RTS nutrition coaching can eventually account for factors such as protein intake, meal timing, carbohydrate timing, and overall nutrient balance.
Do I need nutrition coaching if I already know what “healthy eating” looks like?
Possibly. Knowing what to do and consistently doing it are different skills. RTS is built around closing that gap by creating structure, improving awareness, and helping you build repeatable systems rather than simply giving you more nutrition information.
Why not just follow a meal plan?
Because the goal is for you to become better at making nutrition decisions yourself. RTS does not center the process around rigid meal plans. Coaches provide structure and guardrails while helping you develop the skills to build meals, plan ahead, and adapt when your environment changes.
What if I don’t have time to cook or prepare meals?
You do not have to prepare every meal yourself for nutrition to fit your life. Prepared meals can be a practical way to reduce friction, stay consistent, and make planning ahead easier. The Strong Kitchen, located at RTS in Hamden, offers fully prepared meals with nutrition information provided and portion options designed around goals such as fat loss, performance, or muscle gain.
