A well-defined starting point is pivotal for mapping a training plan that helps an athlete achieve their goals. Without one, training is haphazard and minimally effective. RTS athletes undergo a comprehensive evaluation process to maximize training effectiveness and reduce training injury.
A comprehensive needs-assessment of the client’s development (biomechanical, psychological, lifestyle) essential in facilitating successful training outcomes. At RTS we use the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), as well as standard orthopedic assessments. The FMS is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness

The movement assessment (based on the Functional Movement Screen) and performance testing are the technical elements that tell us exactly what your body needs. Test results are examined with your goals in mind.
Have goals you’re dead-set on achieving? Great. If not, we’ll be there to help you evaluate what you want to achieve while you’re at RTS and how that affects your overall athletic goals. The combination produces an individualized training program designed to maximize your performance in your chosen sport while limiting injury risk.
